Now that it is finally warm here, I have been able to wear my sandals! They are just as comfy as I said they were in my original post about them. I have worn them on long walks, all day Saturday adventures with the family, and days out and about doing normal every day stuff. My feet have never felt better! The part that goes between the toes seems to be softening up and has not caused me any pain or discomfort. My arches feel great and my feet don't throb after long days on my feet as they do with my other sandals. I really have no complaints about the comfort of these sandals. They are so comfortable that I want to wear them all day every day! And, I still can't get over how cute they are!
However, all comfy-ness aside, after only a couple of times wearing them they started peeling at the toes. I was so sad about this. Maybe it wasn't noticeable to anyone, but it bothered me! To me, paying $95 for a pair of sandals means that they should last and be better quality than that. I mean, I have some $20 sandals from 3 years ago that are still in good condition. How could these $95 sandals be messing up already!?
At first I was not going to contact the company about it, because I thought they would just say it was normal wear and do nothing about it. However, after reading some new reviews that were posted on chaos.com about these sandals, where people were having the same issue as me, I decided to contact them. They were quick to respond and classified my sandals as defective. Before they would send me a replacement pair though, I had to do the unthinkable... I had to cut the straps off my sandals!!!!! I almost had a panic attack as I took the scissors to the sandals. In order to receive a replacement they needed proof that I did indeed cut the straps off, so I had to email them a photo. The next day they put in the order for my replacement in the same style, size and color as the pair I have.
The replacement sandals should be here within 7-10 days.
Check below for the final update!
While I am not happy about the "toe peeling" I haven't given up on these sandals yet. To me, the style and comfort are still worth buying. I do hope though that the new ones will hold up better. Chaco's does say that they warrantee their products, and so far they have stood behind that promise by sending me a new pair. I am holding on to hope that these will be better!
The replacement sandals were said to be here within 7-10 days. I received them in 6 days. These did not have bubbling in the footbed as the originals had. However, I did notice a small scratch on the footbed.
After 2 days of wearing them there was a spot on the toe that started to peel. This is after just normal walking, being around the house, running errands.
After 2 weeks of wearing them (again, just normal everyday wear) I could see where the toe looked like it was beginning to peel in another spot. (see photos below)
I expect they will look like the previous ones pretty soon. It's disappointing. However, I still think they are the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn and other than the peeling issue they are cute. I don't know if I would spend the money on them again because the peeling is a big deal. If the sandals were cheaper then I wouldn't care as much about that, but for the price they are I do think they should not be peeling.
I hope this review has helped you in your buying decision!

Hi! I'm Lyndsey.
I am the artist behind iystudios. I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. Believe it or not, it all started with a disposable camera. Yes, disposable!
Flashback about 30 years and you will find me as a toddler taking my first selfie before the world even knew what a selfie was. I still have the photo. It's not pretty. You probably will never see it online, but it does exist. I have come along way since then!
I have worked hard at perfecting my craft and learning all I can about photography and design. I have spent most of my years behind the camera and you will rarely see me in front of the camera, if ever.
